Marilyn Dick Williams, 98, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Ridgewood Health Services. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 3, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home Funeral. Services will be follow at 12 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Funeral Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Dr. Richard Trucks will officiate. She was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attended the Deaconess School of Nursing. She met and married her husband, Dr. David, while he was doing his medical residency in Cincinnati. Mrs. Williams moved to Jasper when her husband got out of the Navy. He opened a medical practice downtown and she was his office manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper and a member of the Times Study Club of Jasper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. David J. Williams, Jr.; son, David J. Williams, III; parents, Harold and Elsa Dick; son-in-law, Daniel W. Smith, Jr.; sister, Sandra Dick Johnson; brother, Roger Dick; brothers-in-law, Rev. James S. Cantrell and Elbert Williams, and sisters-in-law, Mary Ernestine Williams Cantrell and Eleanor Williams. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Jean “B.J.” Williams Smith of Hammond, Louisiana, and Carol Williams of Birmingham; grandchildren, Tanya M. Smith of Jasper, Col. Daniel W. Smith, III (Amy) of Fairfax, Virginia, Tyler Williams of Brooklyn, New York, Alison Williams of Birmingham; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Janelle Williams of Spanish Fort and Maria Dick of Mesa, Arizona, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful caretakers at Ridgewood Nursing Home in Jasper. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to First Baptist Church of Jasper P.O. Box 71 Jasper, AL 35502.
