Marilyn Condra Spurgeon, age 100 of Florence, passed away October
5, 2024. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 1:00
P.M. till 2:00 P.M. at Highland Baptist Church, 219 Simpson St., Florence,
AL. Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the church with John Brock
officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will
be family and friends. Williams Funeral Home in charge of services.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles Howard
Spurgeon. One daughter, Carol Olive. Her parents, Russell and Lillie
Condra. Her sisters Norma Maloney, Dorothy Ann Condra. Brothers,
Richard Condra (Norma Sue), Russell Condra (Elizabeth), and Carl Condra
(Sara).
Marilyn is survived by one daughter, Margaret Mitchell (Dewey). Four
grandchildren; Eddie Olive (Kristy Lee), Brad Olive (Vicki), Jason
Montgomery (Mary Jo), and Jeffrey Montgomery (Daniela). Eight great-
grandchildren; Tyler Olive (Brittany), Madison Olive, Rhett Montgomery,
Sam Montgomery, Sara Hardy, Christian Olive, Tori Olive, and Chandler
Morrison. And three great-great-grandchildren, Eloise Olive, Scarlett Olive
and Lilly Olive.
Marilyn was a member of Highland Baptist church of Florence, where she
taught Sunday school for many years. She dearly loved being with her
family especially during the holidays.
Donations in her memory may be made to Highland Baptist Church Legacy
Fund, 219 Simpson Street, Florence, AL 35630. The family would like to
thank the nurses and staff at the Renaissance for their excellent care for
the last two years.
