Marilyn Clay Hyde, 87, of Sheffield, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. There was a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia directed by Morrison Funeral Home.
Marilyn was a native of Ashland, Kentucky and a longtime resident of Sheffield, Alabama. She worked as a dental hygienist before dedicating her time to her family. She was an avid gardener and cook and will be fondly remembered for her many signature dishes that she enjoyed preparing for her family and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Louie Hyde, Jr; parents, Martin Glen Clay and Mollie Conley Clay; and brother, William Clay. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Hyde Ledbetter and husband, Claude Christopher Ledbetter and John Martin Hyde and wife, Michelle Hazelwood Hyde; grandchildren, Martin Gaston Ledbetter, Marshall Garrett Ledbetter, Madison Marilyn Hyde, and Haze Thomas Hyde.
