Graveside funeral services for Marilyn Bean Jones, age 94 of Decatur will be on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Bishop officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024 from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton, AL.
Marilyn was born April 1, 1930, to Willie T. “Dick” Bean and Verna Wright Bean of Clanton, AL.
She was graduated from Auburn University and received her Master of Arts Degree from the University of Alabama. She was a social worker in Jefferson County and Tuscaloosa County. She retired from the Decatur City Schools after 25 years of service in the field of Education. She was a former member of Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Alabama Education Association, the Alabama Association of School Psychometrist, and Alabama Retired Teachers Association.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Decatur, AL.
Surviving are her Son, Brian S. Jones, Sister, Judy Bean (Ferrell) Wilkins, Brother, Jack T. (JoAnn) Bean. She was preceded in death by her Father, Willie T. “Dick” Bean, Mother, Verna Wright Bean, Husband, Lloyd S. Jones, Brother, Billy Bean, Sister, Frances Bean Caffee.
