carlys lawMONTGOMERY-The Alabama Legislature has passed a marijuana bill, “Carly’s  Law” which  was named after a 3 year girl from Birmingham-area.  The oil does not produce a “high” and evidence suggests that it is an effective treatment for seizures disorders.  The bill would legalize an oil derived from the cannabis plant to be used for medical purposes.

The Senate voted 27 – 0 Thursday to agree with slight amendment made by the House  to the original bill (Passed the House 97 – 0).   The new legislation will now go to Governor Bentley for his signature.   Bentley has said if the bill passed he would sign it.
