Marie Welch Dyer

Marie Welch Dyer, age 82, passed away on January 27, 2023.  She is preceded in death by her parents, William Ellis and Mattie Pearl Welch, her brothers Sterling and Bobby Welch.  She was also preceded in death by her Husband of 46 years James Dillard Dyer.

She is survived by her son Keith Dyer (Tracy) and her daughter Meleia Bell (Jack).  She is also survived by her 5 grandsons Nathan Dyer (Chelsea), Jacob Dyer (Abigail), Davis Dyer, Weston Bell, and Bronson Bell and two great granddaughters Leighton Dyer and Monroe Dyer.  Additionally, she is survived by two brothers William and Robert Welch and many nieces and nephews.  She shared a special bond with her niece Linda Garrison who was like a sister to her.

Marie was born in Dickson County in 1940 and moved to Nashville in 1957.  She married James Dillard Dyer in 1961.  She was a long-time member of Concord Road Church of Christ (Brentwood) and Maple Hill Church of Christ (Lebanon).  Marie loved being a Wife and Mother, and in 1990 just shy of her 50th birthday she became Nana (her favorite name) to what would eventually be 5 grandsons.  She loved spending time with her boys, attending school programs, and cooking big meals for holidays. She loved antiquing with friends and decorating.  In recent years she lived at the Pavilion in Lebanon and created many loving and lasting relationships with the residents and staff.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 30, 2023, from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Sellars Funeral Home Lebanon with Reverend Jonathan Richerson officiating.  Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Park

Pallbearers will be Weston Bell, Bronson Bell, Jack Bell, Nathan Dyer, Jacob Dyer, and Davis Dyer.

The family would also like to thank the many caregivers who provided love and support for Marie over the recent years and a very special thanks to Levonzale Saddler who was with Marie everyday over the past several months.
