Mrs. Marie Letson, age 88, of Skyline, Alabama passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Born December 10, 1936, in Jackson County, Alabama, Marie lived a life devoted to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful. She married the love of her life, Curtis Letson, on December 15, 1952, beginning a legacy of love that grew as she became a devoted mother to Frank, Tina, and Keith — and later a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She excelled in every one of these roles.
A woman of deep faith, Marie received the Holy Ghost on January 26, 1959, and was a member of Skyline Free Holiness Church. Marie loved to laugh, but she also loved to travel, it didn’t matter if it was to St. George or to Scottsboro. She especially loved to go fishing.
Marie’s memory will forever be cherished by her children, Frank Letson and his wife, Barbara; Tina Miller and her husband Rickey; and Keith Letson and his wife Melinda. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Frankie Letson (Chastity), Michael Letson (Terri), Daniel Miller (Ami), Caleb Miller, Jacob Miller, Derek Letson (Stephanie), and Megan Stapler (Coty); along with 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild on the way, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with her husband, Curtis, Marie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Letson; parents, Jimmy & Maude Talley; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.
A service to celebrate a life well lived will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in the chapel of Scottsboro Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Blake Gifford, Bro. Darrell Gray, and Bro. Frank Letson. A graveside service, officiated by Bro. Royce Cornelison, will follow at Skyline Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 5-8 p.m.
