Marie Ivy Herring Hooper, age 73, of New Market, Alabama passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023. Marie was born in Huntsville, Alabama on March 1, 1949. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Edwin Herring; mother, Lula Frances Herring; sisters, Sarah Candace Herring, Carolyn Herring Lambert, Jane Herring Jordan, Frances Herring Bergman; loving husband, David Michael Hooper.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Robin Hooper Dake (Jimmy); son, Kenneth Michael Hooper; grandchildren, Tasha Lynn Tubbs, Tyler Michael Hooper (Laken), Edward Anthony Tubbs, Jr., Hannah Dake Lacy (Trent), Lauren Hooper Quick (Ryan); brother, Clarence Edwin (Ed) Herring, Jr. (Patsy).
Marie worked and retired from Chrysler Corporation. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and the best Nanny in the world. Family was very important to her. She loved to cross stitch, crochet, enjoyed being outdoors, planting flowers and feeding hummingbirds. She also had a love of cooking and gathering with her family. Going out to eat was a favorite treat, as well as shopping. Marie loved her Alabama Football Team. She loved her Abbie, her 4 legged baby. Marie loved her church, going on trips and vacations. She was the youngest of six children, she was the baby. Everyone that knew and loved Marie will miss her so very much.
A Visitation for Marie will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00pm, officiated by Rev. Richard Hughes. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Masonic Garden.
