Marie Elizabeth Summers Cox, age 89, passed away February 9, 2021 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Alabama following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer John and Hilda Kuhlenengelken Summers, and her husband of 60 years, Karl D. Cox, Jr.
She is survived by her four children, Shelly Harris (Danny) of Huntsville, Alabama; Karla Cafarelli of Sonoita, Arizona; Karl D. Cox, III (Lisa Young) of Redondo Beach, California; Teresa Conklin (Neal) of Burns, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Alex Conklin (Laura) of Burns, Tennessee, and William Scott of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and one great-grandchild, Kenzlee Conklin of Burns, Tennessee.
A memorial service and burial will be scheduled at a later date in Nashville, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Marie’s name to Huntsville Hospital Foundation, designated to the Hospice Family Care fund.
