F.04.12.24 Marie Brasher Bizzell Pittman.jpgMarie Brasher Bizzell Pittman touched the hearts of many throughout her life’s journey, which began on December 11, 1971, in Savannah, TN. She was the cherished only child of Martha Ann Robertson Brasher and the late Lash LaRue James Nathan Brasher.

With her husband Doug by her side, Marie co-owned and operated Up the Creek Kayaks, Cabins and Campground in Olive Hill, TN. The tranquil waters brought her solace, earning it the endearing nickname “her creek therapy.” Witnessing the joy on people’s faces as they returned from their adventures brought her immense happiness. Marie took pride in her mini-farm, tending to an assortment of animals including chickens, donkeys, ducks, sheep, goats, and turkeys. She found peace outdoors while maneuvering the bush hog or riding on the lawn mower.

Known as the family caretaker, Marie’s compassion knew no bounds. Her caring nature was matched by her sense of humor as she often played pranks and left surprises for her loved ones. She reveled in traveling with family and friends, creating lasting memories along the way.

However, Marie’s most treasured role was that of being a mother. Her daughter held a special place in her heart—a bond that brought immeasurable joy.
