Marie (Bragwell) Beasley Marie Bragwell Beasley, age 88, passed away Wednesday, December 25, at Russellville Hospital. She was born September 14, 1936, to Louie and Minnie Heupel Bragwell. She worked at Midsouth in Hackleburg then entered the restaurant business. She is best-known for owning the Chat-n-Chew restaurant in Phil Campbell for over two decades, from 1971-1975 then again from 1983-1996. She was famous for her homemade fried pies and chili dogs, with people coming from all over to enjoy the attention and courtesy she offered to everyone. Marie also helped establish Warehouse Furniture where she and Frank worked for five years before retiring. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 29, from 1:00-3:00 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville with service following in the chapel. Bro. Greg Beasley will officiate. Interment will be at Mountain View Baptist Church, Phil Campbell.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Frank Beasley; son, Jeff Beasley; brothers, Jim Bragwell and Paul Bragwell; and sister, Margaret Holland. She is survived by daughters, Debra Mays (David), and Sherry Peppers (Danny), daughter-in-law Melissa Beasley; foster son, Charles Coolidge (Jody); grandchildren Jeremy Peppers (Amanda), Jonathan Mays (JoEllen), Danielle McLain (Jesse), Amy Knight (Bret), Craig Beasley (Brooke), Kala Powell (Danny); 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pall bearers will be Jeremy Peppers, Jonathan Mays, Bret Knight, Jesse McLain, Craig Beasley, Johnce Knight, and Connor McLain.
