Mrs. Maridith Wood, age 95, passed away on Wednesday in Lexington. She was born January 18, 1929 in Henderson County to the late Barney and Jewel Ridley McBride. She was a retired Florist and enjoyed gardening, cooking, riding horses, and gospel music. She was always smiling, and loved her family dearly.
Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. J. E. Wood; daughter-in-law, Lori Wood; two brothers, Bobby and Kenneth McBride; and two sisters, Jean Rucker and Sue Fitchue. She is survived by her three sons, Barry Wood (Sherry), Jackie Wood, and Tim Wood (Jennifer); five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2024, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Center Hill Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, 2 – 7 PM and on Saturday, 9 AM – 2 PM.
