Marian Elaine Talley Aldridge, 91, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, after complications from a fall. Marian was born in Unionville, Virginia on November 5, 1933, and graduated from Orange High School, Orange, Virginia in 1951. She moved to Richmond, Virginia and started her career in Accounting at The Army’s Richmond Quartermaster Depot. There she met her future husband, Ray Aldridge. They were married on October 27, 1962, at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis. They have been married for 61 years, mostly living in Huntsville, Alabama. Marian was a long-standing member of Weatherly Heights Baptist Church.
Marian is preceded in death by her parents, Linwood Casey Talley and Frances Coleman Talley of Unionville, Virginia; husband, Raymond Donald Aldridge; sister, Betty Talley Mason of Richmond, Virginia; and brother, Wayne Casey Talley of Unionville, Virginia.
Survivors include her son, Robert W. Aldridge (Ginny); daughter, Suzanne E. Maples (Ken) of Huntsville, Alabama; sister, Elsie R. Talley of San Francisco, California; grandchildren, Brittany Knight Lee, Justin Knight, Ray Aldridge, Joe Aldridge, Jared Maples, and Lauren Maples; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Weatherly Heights Baptist Church, 1306 Cannstatt Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35803.
