Maria Williford, 93, of Huntsville, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, June 9, 2023. She was born on August 11, 1929, in the Philippines to the late Asuncion and Jesus Sanz.
Marichu as she was referred to by close friends and family was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Maria Williford will be remembered as a fiercely strong-willed princessa who loved nothing more than being around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have ever known her.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; husband, Thomas Allen Williford, son, John Allen Williford as well as 17 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include sons, Bob Williford and wife Michelle, and Eddie Williford and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Christy Lurie and husband, Rob, Michael Williford and fiancée, Bailie, Lauren Dougherty and husband, Jonray, Chris Williford and wife, Anna; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Lurie, and Braden and Madeline Dougherty.
The celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the graveside at Maple Hill Cemetery with Father Mike MacMahon officiating.
