Marguerite Elizabeth Goode Prince, age 89, of Anderson, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015. Due to weather, the service has been moved from Wednesday to Thursday. Visitation will be Thursday Feb. 26, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Services will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Chuck Hood officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery in Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, O.L. Prince, and her grandchild, Cheryl Gladd.
Mrs. Prince is survived by children, Jerry Prince (Sue), Chery Prince (Bobby Gladd), Marvin Prince (Karen), Beth Smith (Ronny), Richard Prince (Sharon), and Michelle Prince-Glenn; two sisters, Luthene Herston and Peggy Romine (Ron); 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Gladd, Brian Prince, Chasley Smith, Jake Prince, Austin Glenn, and Keenan Gladd-Brown.
Marguerite was an active member at Union Hill C.P. Church and graduated from Lauderdale County High School.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Sandy Hamlin, Jenny Lovell, and Debbie Carroll, as well as Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice or Union Hill C.P. Church.
