Margie Ruth O’Rear, 79, died Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Tishomingo Community Living Center, Iuka, MS. She was born in Belmont, MS to Ted and Fay Ivy Gentry and worked as a waitress. She was a lifelong member of The Church of God of Prophecy.
Services will be Thursday, July 6, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Donnie Wooten and Bro. Mark Barnett officiating. Burial will be in East Prentiss Cemetery, New Site, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by two sons – Jack O’Rear and Todd O’Rear; four grandchildren– Dallas, Justin, Jeb and Kaylee; eight great-grandchildren – Nicholas, Justin, Jace, Morgan, Laylani, Rebecca, Jason and Emma; two sisters – Betty Tennison (Holley) and Mittie Sartain (Billy) and three daughters-in-law – Alicia, Amanda and Nicole.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Lealon O’Rear, her parents, a brother, Travis Gentry, two sisters, Opal Taylor and Dorothy Bailey and a baby boy, Gentry.
Pallbearers will be Dallas O’Rear, Jeb O’Rear, Steve Taylor and Randy Taylor.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 12-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
