Margie (Minor) McGee was released from her earthly body on Sept. 26, 2012, after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was a cherished mother to Daphne Nix (Roger Nix) and Felicia McGee-Campagna (Ronald Campagna) and grandmother to John Nix.
She is survived by her brothers, Charles (Christine) Minor, Jerry (Judy) Minor; and devoted friend Georgianna Bafundo. She was a beloved aunt and niece to many. She was preceded in death by parents, James and Mamie Minor; brother, Urshel Minor; and former husband, John McGee.
Marge graduated from Cherokee High School in 1955 and relocated to Chicago, Ill. until her return to Barton, Ala. in 2004. She was an avid reader and treasured her pets Sadie, Max and Susie. She radiated love and acceptance to all she knew. Her kindness touched countless people throughout her life.
Visitation will be held at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, on Friday, Sept. 28 5-8 p.m. with burial Saturday, Sept. 29; procession beginning at Morrison’s at 1:30 p.m., with services to be held at Barton Methodist Church.
