Margie Hamby Grimes, 90, of Moulton passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at NHC Healthcare. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM till 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Bro. Wayne Turner officiating and Hollie Miller speaking . Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Margie was born January 23, 1934 to Allen and Annie Hamby, She worked along side her husband in the businesses they co-owned, Grimes Bros Auto Parts and Wrecker Service and Lawrence County Ambulance Service. Her delight in life was caring for her granddaughter and her great grandchildren. In her younger years she always enjoyed working outside and admiring God’s nature. She had a servant’s heart, always willing to help others.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Renegar; one granddaughter, Hollie Miller (Ricky), four great-grandchildren,Stratton Miller (Avery), Kylie Williams (Adam), Kamryn Miller, and Loryn Miller (Nathan Cagle); one great-great grandson, Stratton Allen Miller Jr.; and sister, Peggy Burke (Ronald).
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Grimes; son, Stacey Grimes; son-in-law, Joe Renegar; parents, Allen and Annie Hamby; sisters, Hazel Terry, Christine Jolley, and Doyce Brooks; and brothers, James Hamby, Windell Hamby and Gary Hamby.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Miller, Stratton Miller, Adam Williams and Nathan Cagle. The family extends special thanks to the NHC Health Care for the care they provided, especially Kathy Steele, Loretta Cottingham, Tammy Dutton, Rebecca Jackson, Susie Ergle, and all of the health care providers who were such a blessing to her. Also to Hospice of the Valley for their care in her last days, Elana Clemons, Julie Stricklin, Sheneka Wiggins, Karina Schirmer, Brandie Clark, and Rich Thompson.
