Margie Galloway, 94, passed away on Friday, May 20th. A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Prospect Cemetery in Lincoln County, Tennessee with Scotty Sparks officiating.
Margie Galloway was a friend, sister, mother, and grandmother with an unmatched knack for sewing and quilting. Through thousands of tiny stitches in pillowcases, baby dresses, children’s clothing, and beautiful quilts, “Granny Margie” communicated love for the recipients who cherish these items. But her greatest talent was rocking babies. It’s only natural that she spent her career in the nursery of Lincoln County Hospital in her hometown of Fayetteville, Tennessee rocking and singing to many babies. After retirement, she moved to Florence so her own grandchildren could benefit from this sweet affection. In Florence, she lived many years in Montreat Apartments where she regularly handmade items for each resident for holiday parties.
Margie Galloway was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall, and sisters, Pauline Ables and Lois Dixon. She is survived by her son, Randall (Myra) Galloway, of Florence; sister, Ruth Roles, and brother, Bill Crabtree, both of Fayetteville; grandchildren Seth (Alana) Galloway, Samuel Galloway, Schuyler (Adria) Galloway, Slade Galloway, and Scotty (Celine) Sparks; great-grandchildren, Lydia Galloway and Abram, Mattianne, Miriam, and Enoch Sparks; and many nephews, nieces, and beloved friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Florence Nursing Home for the care and kindnesses provided in the last few months.
