Funeral service for Margaret Virginia Berry Turner, age 92, of Decatur,
will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. J. D. Thorne and Rev. Earl Holt officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Turner, who died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation,
was born March 11, 1921, in Morgan County,
to James Walter Berry and Lillie Myrtle Holt Berry.
She was a member of Point Mallard Parkway Baptist Church.
Mrs. Turner was an avid gardener and loved her flower and vegetable gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Austin Turner,
and her daughter, Jan Turner.
She is survived by one son, Derek Austin Turner and wife, Thalia, of Brooksville;
two daughters, Lillian Glennell Carr and husband, Morris, of Decatur,
and Jackie Griffith and husband, Wayne, of Hartselle;
seven grandchildren, Marla Lang and husband, Nolan, Karen Carr,
Taleah Alexander, Michelle Johnson, Lori Ray and husband, Tommy,
Patrick Griffith and wife, Kelly, and Matt Cross;
six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Geno Shirey, Nolan Lang, Arlon Thigpen,
Patrick Griffith, John Bolton, and David Lang.
