Margaret Southern, 88, of Toney, Al, passed away on Nov 23, 2022 after living with dementia. Margaret was born on Feb 28, 1934 to Orla & Vera McClurg in El Reno, OK. Margaret met John at “The Drug Store” where she was a soda jerk in El Reno Oklahoma. They married in Feb. 1955 and went on to have 3 children John L., Harry, & Cheryl.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband John of 63 years, her brother James David, her sister Verale, her son John L. She is survived by Harry (Sandy Lack) Southern, Cheryl (Larry) Foreman, grandkids Ronnie (Holly) Foreman, Kimi (Ally) Foreman, Christy (Jacob) Owensby, Johnny (Natalie) Foreman, her brother Larry (Betty) Humes, her great-grandchildren Rosie & Evie Foreman, Niko & Andie Owensby.
Visitation for Margaret will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Following the visitation will be a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Margaret will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memory Gardens, Huntsville, AL.
