Margaret Simmons Reed Elrod, of Duluth, GA passed from this earth to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 30, 2015. She was born in Minor Hill, TN on August 31, 1935 to Johnie Melvin Simmons and Amber Savannah Simmons. Margaret is survived by her husband of 10 years, Rufus J. Elrod, Jr. She was previously married to the now deceased Bryan Franklin Reed of Pulaski, TN. Her surviving children are Stephen Bryan Reed of Birmingham, AL and Margaret Dianne Jones of Suwanee, GA. Her surviving grandchildren are William James Reed, Stephen Dean Reed, Katie Marie Davis, Bryan Blake Jones, and Andrew Franklin Jones. She is also survived by her brother, Billy Joe Simmons and her sister, Shirley Faye Russell. She is predeceased by her brother, Bobby John Simmons and her sister, Ruby Jean Woolen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral home in Pulaski, TN with graveside services immediately following at Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville, TN.
