Margaret Ann Gilbert Margaret (Peggy) Ann Gilbert, age 84 of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Alan Gilbert; parents, Larry and Alma (nee Erler) Dixon; sister, Judy Smith.

Peggy and her family moved from Michigan to Miami, Florida in 1977. She was an active member of her church, and her Christian faith was a guiding force in her life. A dedicated educator, she taught middle school math and science, inspiring countless young minds. After retiring from teaching, Peggy assisted her husband in running his engineering business. Later, Peggy and Jerry moved to the Florida Treasure Coast, where they enjoyed living beachside. Following Jerry’s passing, Peggy moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to be closer to her family, cherishing the time spent with loved ones in her final years.

Peggy was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, always ensuring her family was cared for. She fostered a love of learning and adventure that will forever live on in her children and grandchildren. A fiercely strong woman, Peggy was a passionate advocate for her family and never hesitated to speak her mind, leaving a legacy of strength, love, and determination.

She is survived by her children, Kris Gilbert and Kelly Krick; grandchildren, Kelsey Graves- Huffman and husband Seth, Kylie Graves and fiancé Devon, Kerynne Graves and boyfriend Gage; sister, Barbara Lanning and husband James; nephews, Bryan Lanning and Kevin Smith; and granddog, Daisy.
