Margaret L. Parks passed away Saturday night, October 28th, at her home in Bolivar. She was 87 years of age.
The daughter of the late Fitz Simmons Lax and Pearl Mae Bryant Lax, she was born and reared in Bolivar where she graduated from Bolivar Central High School in the Class of 1953. On September 30th of that year, she married Mr. Billy T. Parks, who survives. She was primarily a homemaker and was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed wood working including building picnic tables, crafts, fishing, sewing and antique shopping. She and Mr. Parks retired back to Bolivar in 1986.
In addition to her husband of 70 years, she leaves her daughter, Susan Parks Moore of Bolivar; grandchildren, Jonathan (Tykira) Moore, Chelsey (Jacy) Parks and Richard Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Maci Wilson, Addison and Eden Moore, Davin Joseph Parks, Jr. and Hadley Grace Parks.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Thomas Parks, two grandchildren, Bethany Wilson and Michael Singleton; her parents; two sisters, Vera Lax and Ann Elizabeth Brooks George; and a brother Jewel “Sonny” Brooks.
