Reverend Mark Millwee and Bro. Tom Campbell will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Harville, Arnold Livingston, David Archer, Steve Hagood, Robbie Hill and Bill Hagood.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jerry Brown; her son, Jared Brown; grandchildren, Isabella, Lindsay and Chandler Brown; brother, Dwight (Beverly) Bowling; sister, Pam (Ricky) Landers.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Brown; her parents, Eric Perry Bowling and Mildred V. Hill Bowling.

Jean was a Christian and is now with her Lord and Savior. She was a hairdresser for 59 years and was the owner of Liberty Salon where she met and made many new friends over the years. She helped her husband, Jerry also, where they were the owners of Liberty Signs. Her passion was printing T-Shirts with religious sayings. She was an avid gardener and attended to her many flowers. She raised Jack Russell Terriers, which she loved and adored. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching the Wheel of Fortune and being the best at solving the puzzles.

Jean was a Breast Cancer Survivor and wore her pink ribbon proudly. Jean was a 1964 graduate of Lawrence County High School and was looking forward to her 60th Class Reunion. She was loved by so many and if you knew her, you knew you would always have a dear friend.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Rex Tuckier of NHC Healthcare of Moulton and his staff, also to Affinity Hospice for the wonderful care she received at home in the final days. Thank you to Elaine Ray, Arnold Livingston and Regina Smith for not only being a friend but being much more to us, and to all that sent food, cards or visited.

The family request, in lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Stroke Association.

Shelton Funeral Home is assisting the family.
