Margaret Howell Homan, 82 of Muscle Shoals, passed away peacefully Friday, December 22, 2023, surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama.
Margaret was a longtime resident of Muscle Shoals. She was a Christian, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, a homemaker, and a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Thomas Homan; daughters, Stephanie Jill Homan and Cathy Ann Homan; parents, Lecil O. and Mary B. Howell; brother, Larry O. Howell; sister, Diana Lee Knight; niece, Kimberly Ann Whitt; and nephews, Kerry Howell and Scott Homan.
She is survived by her daughter, Jerri Susan Homan Adkins (Craig); sister, Sandra Dale Howell; grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth and Rebecca Joy Adkins, and Mallory Rae Martin (Blake); and most beloved great-grandson, Elijah John Martin. Also surviving Margaret is her sister-in-law, Joyce Cochran; brothers-in-law, Edward Homan (Sheila), Dennis Homan (Charlotte), and Jim Knight; nieces, Valerie Reeves (Troy), Wendy Knight, Allison Baggett (Mike), Lesley Fletcher (Tim), Denise Homan (Jim), and Missy Stults (Beck); and nephews, Jason Knight (Tina), Farrel Cochran, Todd Cochran (Susan), Jessie Homan (Laine), and Matt Homan (Jill).
Pallbearers will be Craig Adkins, Jason Knight, Jim Knight, Matt Homan, and Todd Cochran. Honorary pallbearers are Farrel Cochran and Blake Martin.
The family offers their sincerest appreciation to North Alabama Hospice and the wonderful sitters who cared for Margaret: Machelle Williams, Susan Hood, Angie Elkins, Deborah Turbyfill, and Ashley Waldrep.
