Margaret Emma Jean Roach, 80, of Florence, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Abundant Life Baptist Church, Florence. Burial will be in Whesley Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. F. C. Rowlett officiating.
Mrs. Roach was a member of Little Zion No. II Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from Glenwood Healthcare Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Roach; parents, Oscar and Nettie Liles; ten brothers; and four sisters; a daughter-in-law, Cassondra T. Roach.
She is survived by two sons, Edwin Roach (Janice), Gary Roach (Teresa); three daughters, Shelia Payne, Ramona Dash (Don), Sharon Roach; three sisters, Thelma Sadler, Pearl Bompus (Jake), Mildred Liles; a sister-in-law, Ola Brannon; a brother-in-law, Charles Scruggs; a devoted niece, Pamela Towns; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to the staff of Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Dr. Christine Davis.
