Mrs. Margaret Dean Corbett, age 76, of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Mrs. Corbett was born July 1, 1947, in Lamar County, AL, to Alice Johnson and the late Prentiss Johnson. She was a faithful member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church and was a factory line worker. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and being with her family. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheree Renae Corbett, and two sisters, Linda Reeves and Kay DuBose and her husband Wayne.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 1, at 2:00 PM, at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. Wayne Overton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 at the church prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Aaron Black, Elijah Johnson, Mikie Taylor, Devin Dias, Collin Hester, and Chris Warner. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Mattison and Mike Hays.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Leonard Corbett; one son, Preston (Vanessa) Corbett; two daughters, Deana (Chris) Warner and Lena (Mikie) Taylor; her grandchildren, Paige (Dalton) Dias, Devin (Cassidy) Dias, Caleb Corbett, Carly Corbett, Sarah Beth (Collin) Hester, and Anna Kate (Elijah) Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Lewis Hester, Zoey Dias, and Charlotte Hagood; her mother, Alice Johnson; one sister, Debbie (Paul) Mattison; and a host of other family and friends.
