Margaret Byrd, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016. Visitation will be at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Tom McDowell and Robert Wilson will be officiating, with interment in Crooked Oak Cemetery.
Mrs. Byrd was a Colbert County native and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She was also a dedicated house wife for 72 years. Mrs. Byrd took pride in her yard and spent much of her time keeping it up. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 72 years, James Roy Byrd; parents, Johnnie Malone and Susie Hester Malone; brothers, Hosie and Whitman Malone; sister, Lois Sparks; and daughter, Martha Elaine Byrd.
She is survived by daughter, Judy Byrd; sister, Hazel Malone Andrews; grandchildren, John Johnson, Suzanne Schnell, Melissa Satkamp, Travis and Devan; and three other great and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Hester, Andy Wayne Smith, Terry Huntley, Don Andrews, Johnny Malone, and Donnie Burden.
