Margaret Anne Panik Bell, 82, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday surrounded by friends and family.

Mrs. Bell was born in Syracuse, New York to Margaret Hoffman Panik and August Panik. She attended Geneseo State University, graduating in 1963 with a degree in Special Needs Education with Middle School Certifications. Margaret taught school in Buffalo, NY; San Antonio, Tx; and Riverside, CA.

In June of 1968, Margaret married the love of her life, the late Dr. William Hugh Bell, III and moved to Huntsville, AL. where he began his career as a Neurosurgeon with North Alabama Neurological. In 1980, she owned and operated Augustine’s, a ladies designer boutique shop in Huntsville. She later became the “Gallery Grandmother” at Rivenbark & Roper’s Antiques.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, David A. Panik; her sister, Molly P. Weise; her niece Maureen P. Bova and her nephew, artist Brian Panik. She is survived by Captain Elizabeth T. Panik Bova, United States Marines, Paul Bova, Terry Bell, Kathleen O’Connor, Kristen Russell and extended family, Ken Rivenbark and Randy Roper of Huntsville.

A funeral mass will be in the Chapel of Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 14th at 10:00 am with Father Daniel Sessions officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
