Margaret Ann Samons, 90 of Dora, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday Feb. 25, 2023 at her residence.
Sister Margaret was a homemaker. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of Dora Church of God.
Funeral services will be Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Dora Church of God. Pastor Rick Levell and Rev. Larry Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at Freewill Cemetery in West Jefferson. Visitation is Monday from 12:30-2 pm at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Walter Samons; sons, Dennis Samons and James “Jim” Samons; her parents, Rev. George and Willie Lee Flippo; her grandson, Slade Samons and brothers, Rev. Curtis Flippo and Edward Flippo.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Sanders (Olen) and Karen Dollar (Phillip) of Dora and Vickie Gant (Johnny) of Fayette; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Donald Flippo and Charles Flippo (Marilyn); sister, Kathryn Ricker; special friends, Butch and Jan Morgan and Jean McGough; several other relatives and many friends.
The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of Alabama Hospice Care of Jasper for the tender care of Mrs. Samons.
