Marcia J. Sanders, 55, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Wednesday, May 7, 1958 in Columbus, Georgia, she was the daughter of Howard Hamilton and Evelyn Lyndsey.
She had lived in the Ardmore area since 1983 and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She was the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Ardmore Veterans in Ardmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, David C. Van Housen.
Surviving are husband, Elbert Wayne Sanders, Ardmore, AL, sons; David Van Housen, Nashville, TN , Jason (Carolynn Black) Van Housen, Double Springs, AL, daughters; Sissie Van Housen Eckstein, Ardmore, AL, April Van Housen, Gulf Breeze, FL, brother; Bill (Peggy) Hamilton, Columbus, GA, sister; Joan (Jake) Kaplan, Columbus, GA.; three grandchildren, Autum Black, Matthew Eckstein, and Andrew Eckstein. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL. with Bro. Lynn Marshall officating. Burial will follow in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL.
