Marcia Dee McGreger, 81, of Rogersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023,
Mrs. McGreger was born in Monroe , Michigan, grew up in New Mexico and then moved to Huntsville in 1959. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1960 where she was Sweetheart of Huntsville High.
She worked for Chrylser after graduation and then married her husband Bill, with whom she was married for 46 years and a stay at home mother. She later moved to Rogersville to the family farm and raised cattle.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Don Saffell, her husband, Bill McGreger, Her son, Boyd McGreger, step-daughter, Joyce McGreger Lansdell, and sister Sondra Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon McGreger Elliott (Joe), step-daughter, Barbara McGreger, and special friend Randall McCrary (Tresea). Her Sister Diana O’Hearn. She was Grandmother to Matt McCurry and Nana to Blake Sulcer, Brian Sulcer, Dillon McGreger, Lucas Elliott (Brooke), and Olivia Elliott. Great Nana to Decker Sulcer, Parker Elliott, and Oliver Elliott. Nephews Steve Cook ( Kelly) and Perry Wilds ( Wanda), and Diana Wilds.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation will be Sunday, January 7th, 1-3pm at the Rogersville Funeral home located at 18275 Hwy 72 Rogersville, Al. A burial will immediately follow at Womack Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Limestone County, P.O. box 626, Athens, Al. 35612 or to the Boys and Girls Club of Athens, P.O. Box 1513 , Athens, Al 35612.
