Man Charged With Animal Cruelty Accused Of Beating A Dog With A Belt

TUSCUMBIA-On Thursday, April 4 Garret Larkin was arrested by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Department on Charges of Animal Cruelty.

According to investigators with the CCSO Larkin was seen in a video where he was allegedly beating a dog with a leather belt.  Investigators also say in the same video 23-year-ol Larkin was seen beating the dog after hanging the dog in a tree.

Colbert County Animal Control say Colbert County Deputies responded to the scene after being contacted by neighbors that a dog was being beaten.

According to deputies the dog is still alive and has been placed in custody with the suspects girlfriend.

Larkin was arrested and charged with Cruelty to Animals. He was booked into the Colbert County Jail and has since been released on a $750 bond.
