Ms. Mamie "Sue" Hunter Mamie Sue Hunter, age 89, passed away February 1, 2024, at Marshall Manor Nursing Home in
Guntersville, AL. Mamie Sue was born on December 9, 1934, to Tennie and George Hunter in
Lincoln County, TN.
Throughout her life Mamie Sue attended various churches. After moving to Alabama to live
with her sister, she found a special home at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Mamie Sue
loved the Lord and sang His praises as often as she could. She loved listening to and singing
gospel music. She has now joined the choir of angels in Heaven and is sitting at the feet of
Jesus.
Mamie Sue loved to help people. She visited all neighbors within walking distance and would
help them in any way she could. She had the sweetest soul and loved every person she met.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, York Lackey and JD Lackey, and her sister, Mary
Kate Bradford.

Mamie Sue leaves behind nephews Dan Bradford (Jimmie), Winston Lackey (Bonnie), and Steve
Lackey. Other family members left to cherish special memories of Mamie Sue are Melanie and
Keith Pendergrass , Mark and Tonya Cash, Justin and Jassmyn Pendergrass, Allison and Dustin
Davidson, Kyle Cash, Emma Cash, Collins Davidson, Coleson Davidson, Hadley Pendergrass, and Linda Barrett.

She will be forever remembered by a host of other great-nieces, great-nephews,
cousins, and friends.
A very special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Marshall Manor Nursing Home who
showered Mamie Sue with love and care. Also a special thank you to Dr. Hargraves for taking
care of Mamie Sue.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Kelso Cemetery in Kelso, TN, at
11:00. Bro. Quentin Claborn will preside over the service. Arab Heritage Funeral Home is in
charge of the arrangements.
