Mrs. Mamie Ruth Russell, 90, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Church Street Manor in Ecru where she resided for the last eight years.  She was born in New Albany on September 14, 1931, the daughter of Hugh Thomas Allred and Dessie Lee Sanford Allred.  Mrs. Russell, the widow of Graham Russell, had operated a restaurant in Columbus, Mississippi, and was a devoted homemaker.  Her passion was her garden.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Kay McDonald, and son-in-law, Gary McDonald; two sisters, Margie Adair of New Albany, and Joyce Peters of Baldwyn; five brothers, Bobby Allred, Randy Allred, Danny Allred, David Allred, and Benny Allred, all of New Albany; six grandchildren, Trent Russell, Evan Russell (Lynda), Russ McDonald (Tifany), Drew McDonald (Marissa), Leslie West (Jeremy), and John Tyler Russell; and eleven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents;  by an infant daughter, Judy Carol Russell; three sons, Jackie Russell, Terry Russell, and Graham “Butch” Russell, Jr.; and two brothers, Hulon Thomas Allred and Larry Eric Allred.

Services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 1:00 P. M. at Glenfield Funeral Home, with Chaplain David Laman, officiating.  Pallbearers are Trent Russell, Russ McDonald, Drew McDonald, John Tyler Russell, Jeremy West, Robby Goggans, and Evan Russell.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 A. M. until service time, Friday.  Burial will be in Sand Springs Cemetery in Pontotoc County.
