Mrs. Mamie Lou Sheffield, 74, went to her eternal home and Savior, Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was born in Okolona, Mississippi on August 13, 1949 to Raymond and Mary Lou Cunningham. She enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. Mamie enjoyed watching game shows and working crossword puzzles. She married Jerry Wayne Sheffield September 8, 1965 and together they had six children, and shared a life of love, work, and family until his death December 7, 1998. She was of the Baptist faith and previously attended Grace Memorial Baptist Church.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 AM, Friday, April14, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Gary Haynes officiating. Private burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery, Shannon, MS. Visitation will be to today (Thursday) from 5 PM to 7 PM and Friday from 10 AM to service time.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her six children, Gerald Sheffield (Brenda) of Auburn, Sandy Lyles of Eggville, Michael Sheffield (Melissa) of Skyline, Shelia Mulligan (Robert) of Plantersville, Greg Sheffield (Tabitha) of Auburn, Sharon Gillen (Daniel) of Eggville; two sisters, Carolyn Kelly and Jane Rogers, both of Mooreville; twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters, 1 grandson, 1 son-in-law, and 1 great granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Lyles, Brandon Sheffield, Aaron Gillen, Ray Sheffield, Nick Sheffield, Michael Ray Sheffield, and Bradley Mulligan. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Williams and Joshua Mulligan.

Memorials may be sent to Grace Memorial Baptist Church, 3035 Hwy 178 East, Tupelo, MS 38804.
