Mamie L. Murphree, 90, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Cemetery with Rev. Larry Turner officiating. Mrs. Murphree is survived by her daughter, Ruth and husband Dr. Tony Moyers; grandson, Ryan and wife Dr. Kimberly Moyers; granddaughter, Laura Moyers; brother, Jerral and wife Jean Miller, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and S.J. Miller; husband, Rev. Bert R. Murphree; sisters, Lavada Turner, Wynell Birdwell, Elease Jones, and Margaret Terry; niece, Brenda Barksdale; nephews, Keith Birdwell, Anthony Turner, and Steve Jones. Mrs. Murphree enjoyed working in church, cooking, and playing the piano. Pallbearers will be Joe Pitt, Larry Davis, David Jones, Darrin Miller, Tracy Moyers, and Ryan Moyers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Decatur Youth Symphony.
