Malissa Ann Knudtson, 60 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Knudtson was born on July 18th, 1964, in Tokyo, Japan, to David and Barbara Barry Hamby.
Malissa is survived by her daughter Kate Cagle (Kenny); son Geoffrey Knudtson (Joycelyn); grandchildren Bethany Cagle, David Cagle, Zeke Knudtson, Callie Knudtson, Quinn Knudtson, and Tessa Knudtson; brothers Dwayne Hamby (Sharon) and Alan Hamby; brother and sister Rob and Becky Speer; son/nephew Robert Speer (Lauren) and child Harper; and daughter/niece Rebecca Blackwelder (Jack) and child River.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Craig Knudtson; but most importantly, she is preceded in death and resurrection by Jesus Christ.
Funeral services for Malissa will be Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at 10:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Geoffrey Knudtson and Rob Speer officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 6:00-9:00pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Knudtson, Kenny Cagle, Robert Speer, Rob Speer, Jack Blackwelder, Justin Denton, Mike Selsvik, and Craig Calvert.
Malissa was a special lady. She was a faithful Christian. She enjoyed being an artist and gift giver. She dearly loved being Grammi. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
