Malcolm Ray “Gabby” Odom, 74, semi-retired owner/operator of Odom’s Wrecker Service, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his residence on Rutherford Lane.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Reverend Steve Boshers officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born July 24, 1943 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Olie Wilson Odom and the late Reba Estes Odom. Mr. Odomenjoyed gardening and mowing grass. A very devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marie Dawson Odom of Columbia; son, Steve Odom of Columbia; grandchildren, Candice (Barrett) Johnson; and Cody (Kelley) Odom both of Columbia; great grandchildren, Katherine Johnson; Baylor Rae Johnson; and Owen Ray Odom; sisters, Sara (Kenneth) Jenkins of Columbia; Jeweldean (Larry) Brown of Columbia; Gayle (Jim) Powell of Mt. Pleasant; and Peggy (Ricky) Garrett of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Charles (Tiny) Odom of Columbia; and Larry (Shirley) Odom of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Olean Odom; Cleveland Odom; and Terry Odom.

Active pallbearers will be Guy Odom, Cody Odom, Barrett Johnson, Mike Dawson, Mark Dawson, Ricky Hodge, John Higgins, Mitch Booher, and Anthony Attkisson.
