Malburn Glendel Haynes Sr. – Obituary

Malburn Glendel Haynes Sr. departed this life on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at the age of 77 years and four days. He was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama the son of the late Arthur E. and Beadye Lucille White Haynes. On May 31, 1963, he was united in marriage to Rebekah Pandola Austin, who survives.
Malburn was a veteran of the United States Army Special Forces and had worked for Reynolds Metal Company. He had lived in Waterloo, Alabama all of his life and was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Malburn was interested in sending Bibles and doing Bible correspondence courses to people in Nigeria when he was able, at one time he had 300 students. He hadn’t been able to do this in several years, but he never lost interest.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rebekah Pandola Haynes, of Florence, Alabama; daughters, Tammy G. White and Penny L. Wooten, both of Florence, Alabama; grandchildren, Julianne, Nolan, and Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Logan, Laila, and Adleigh; sister, Nyla Dennis, of Florence, Alabama; nephews, Jerome, Joseph, and Nathan Haynes, of Florence, Alabama; and brother-in-law, Doug Austin, of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Malburn Glendel Haynes Jr., brother, A.D. Haynes, and grandson, Phillip David Willits.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Jackson Heights Church of Christ Mission Fund.
