Makenna Blake Vowell entered this world at The Med Regional Hospital in Memphis at 2 lbs and 14 ounces on February 26, 2024. After struggling with a myriad of health issues, she returned to the Kingdom of God from whence she came on March 9, 2024, at 13 days old. He parents coddled over her with uncompromised love those 13 days. She was a beautiful baby girl and the delight of her parents, Jerimiah “Jay” Vowell and Kloey Thompson Vowell of Tupelo. Our Lord promised, ”Suffer the little children to come unto me, for such is the Kingdom of God.” It is well with Makenna’s soul.
A service to honor her brief life with be held at 1 PM Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Tupelo Church of God. Her grandfather, Pastor Judd Vowell, will preside over the time of reflection and remembrance. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon-service time at Tupelo Church of God, 1813 Briar Ridge Road, Tupelo, MS. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to share this special time with their friends.
Survivors include Makenna’s parents, Jay and Kloey of Tupelo; her big brother, Kayden Vowell; grandparents, Judd and Angelia Vowell and Tracy and Deanna Thompson, all of Tupelo; great-grandparents, Lillie Gay Stockton of West Point, Susan Vowell of Philadelphia, and Gary Vowell of West Point; great-great-grandparents, Billie Vowell of Kosciusko, David and Diane Thompson and David Crawley, all of Mantachie; other extended family members and their Tupelo Church of God family.
