featuredFLORENCE – Between April 1 and April 24, Florence Main Street collected nominations from the Shoals community through our Facebook poll. After counting every single nomination, Main Street finally has the Top 3 most nominated charities and the two wild-card picks who will compete for the coveted $5,000 from our Presenting Sponsor, McDaniel Window & Door.

Last year Presenting Sponsor McDaniel Window & Door, owner Mike McDaniel, presented the $5000 winning charity check to SafePlace, Inc and he’s looking forward to making another charity very happy this year.

In no particular order, the Top 5 Charity Finalists are Room in the Inn Shoals, Pets Are Worth Saving, The Healing Place, One Place of the Shoals, and Shoals Sav-A-Life. All five charities will be competing for the communities’ vote during Florence Restaurant Week. Whether you purchase a $2 cup of coffee from Bookmarks Coffee Shop or dine for dinner at Odette, every diner will have the opportunity to vote for the charity of their choice.

Join Florence Main Street for our first preview event of Florence Restaurant Week the On-The-Rocks-LogoTaste of Kick-Off Event on Tuesday, May 5th at Singin’ River Brewery, 6:30pm to meet and greet with every charity and to taste samples of dishes prepared by all participating restaurants.
