Maie Wilson Edmonds, age 88 of Greenbrier, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at NHC Springfield. Funeral Services will be 5pm on Sunday, September 26th at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Bro. Chad Phelan and Bro. Jack Evans officiating. Jeff Wilson, Jim Perko, David Cohea, John Bush, John Twist, Wayne Semore, Harvey Major and Gary Suter will serve as pallbearers. There will be a private family burial at a later time.
The family will receive friends at the church 3pm until time of service on Sunday. She was born January 20th, 1933 in Gallatin, TN to the late Burge K. and Roxie Emma Duke Wilson. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Leo Wilson, Robert Wilson and sister, Ethelean Draper.
She worked as a Clerk / Supervisor for South Central Bell Telephone Company and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she loved to work with the young people. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Gransam”. She enjoyed reading, cooking and being a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bobby Franklin Edmonds of Greenbrier; sons, David (Venice) Edmonds of Hendersonville, Daniel (Terri) Edmonds of Pike Road, AL; grandchildren, Krista (Kevin) Sykes, Joshua (Lindsay) Edmonds, Lydia (Blake) Cobb and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund in her memory.
