Maidie D. Mills – Obituary

MaidieMaidie D. Mills was born May 8, 1919 in Michie, TN the daughter of the late Frank and Mattie Lou Dickerson.

She was united in marriage to Heard Hill Mills in 1939. Mr. Mills preceded her in death on March 17, 1986. She graduated from Michie High School where she played basketball after graduation she was a substitute teacher. After moving to Memphis, she was a secretary for the City of Memphis in the public works department. She was a member of the Sycamore View Church of Christ in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mrs. Mills took great pride and pleasure in caring for her family. She was an excellent ccok and liked working in her flowers.

Mrs. Mills departed this life on August 16, 2013 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 3 Months, 8 Days. She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Mills and wife Connie of Memphis, TN, Howard Mills and wife Odelia of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren, Monica Escobar, Deborah Sides and husband Raymond, Frank Mills, Madeline Mills; seven great grandchildren, Amanda Escobar, Nicholas Browning, Madison Sides, Cameron Carson, Kelsey Rose Mills, Nathan Mills, Gabriel Greer; host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by a greatt-grandson, Raymond W. Sides Jr.; two sisters, Aline Hindman, Loraine Jordan; a brother, Wade Dickerson.
