Mrs. Maerene Nance, age 85, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 in Decaturville. She was born May 13, 1937 in Henderson County to the late Earnest and Freda Scott Clenney. She was a retired cook for Henderson County Community Hospital and a member of First Pentecostal Church in Lexington. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. George Nance; two brothers, Charles Clenney and Wayne Clenney; three sisters, Gladys Miller, Shirley French, and Bonnie Hopper; and one grandchild, Katlin Starkey. Surivors include her two daughters, Georgietta McCrury (David) and Shoretta Starkey (Scott); brother, Doyle Clenney (Becky); sister, Earline Keen; four grandchildren, April McCrury, Jonathan McCrury (Jennifer), Rachel Williams (Kyle), and Issacc Nelson; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM, Friday, February 17, 2023 at First Pentecostal Church in Lexington. Interment will follow in Church of Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery in Reagan. The family will receive friends at First Pentecostal Church in Lexington on Thursday, 12 – 8 PM and on Friday 10 AM – 1 PM.
