Ms. Mae Evelyn Latch of Rienzi, Mississippi (94) passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Tupelo Health and Rehab Facility in Tupelo, Mississippi. Ms. Latch was born Monday March 26,1928 to the late Willie Fate and Willie Mae Switcher Jones. She was a retired employee of Walmart here she worked as a greeter for many years. Mae was a member of the Baptist faith and a devoted Christian. She had a passion for gardening, flowering and cooking. Mae also enjoyed watching her favorite “Soaps,” Guiding Light and As The World Turns. Mae loved and cherished her feist dog “Petey.”
Ms. Latch is preceded in death by her husband James Howard Latch; one child Sam Latch; her parents; two brothers Billy Hugh Jones and Frank Jones; two sisters Marie Baggett and Sue Jones.
Ms. Latch is survived by one son James David Latch; one daughter Jamie Diane Baumgardener (Anthony); one sister Bobby Shadburn; four grandchildren Kevin Vespo, Michelle Latch, Michael Latch (Lynne), and Angela Sheppard (Jon) and nine great grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service held in her honor Friday January 27, 2023 with Bro. Warren Jones officiating beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon at McPeters Funeral Directors Inc. Chapel in Corinth, Mississippi. The family will welcome visitors beginning at eleven o’clock in the morning until service time. McPeters Funeral Directors Inc. are in charge of the arrangements.
