Mae Evelyn Thornton

MOOREVILLE – Mae Evelyn Clouse Thornton, 87, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at her home. She was born January 18, 1926, to Jeff and Clara Cockrell Clouse. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was a member of Fawn Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.
Services will be at 3 p. m. Wednesday, June 5, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Terry Booker officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Gary Thornton (Kathy) of Benton, Ark.; two daughters, Ann Mitchell (J.B.) of Mooreville and Mitzi Reape (Donnie) of Brighton, TN; two sisters, Ethel Smith of Shiloh and Estelle Keith of Mooreville; seven grandchildren, Tim Mitchell, Kristi Butler, Summer Baird, Brandon Thornton, Dana Kenyon, Taylor Reape, and Trevor Reape; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 70 years, Paul Thornton, who died April 7, 2013.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday, June 4, at the funeral home.
