Mae Dickerson Miller Stanley went to be with her savior on Thursday, March 28, 2024. She was born to Delphia and Leon Dickerson on December 14, 1932.
She lived in Tupelo until she married Gene Miller and they moved to Illinois where they and their three children lived for ten years before returning to make their home in Mississippi. Because of failing health, she moved in 2022 to Hernando to live with her granddaughter and family.
Mae was a retired sales manager for Sears Roebuck, where she was employed for twenty-four years. She was a member of East Heights Baptist Church, and she enjoyed being involved in various mission projects and serving on several committees.
Mae was survived by her two granddaughters, Stacy Vickers (Brent) and Jenny Begrin; one grandson, Jon Gary Powell; six great-grandchildren, Brock Vickers, Paxton Vickers, Adam Begrin, Matthew Begrin, Meadow Begrin, and Noah Powell; two great-great-grandchildren, Zaela and Matteo Begrin; sister, Carl Annette Huffstutler; two sisters-in-law, Gerry Dickerson Parnell and Kay Stanley; son-in-law, Gary Powell; her extended family, Nancy Davis (Roger), Will Davis (Meghan), Easton and Laurie Gracey, Emily (Jon Craig), Corey Littrell (Ann Marie), Lexi, and Minor; a host of much loved nieces and nephews; and her beloved East Heights “Church Family.”
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rickie Miller; two daughters, Susan Powell and Kathy Miller Brown; her first husband and the father of her children, Richard Eugene Miller; and her second husband, Lawrence Stanley; and his daughter, Janice Anthony.
Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Jerry King officiating with visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Lee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be David Huffstutler, Carlton Huffstutler, Joseph Huffstutler, Pete Phillips, Gary Phillips, Buddy Dickerson, and Tarus Agnew.
