MADISON COUNTY-The Madison County Sheriff’s Department made a drug bust last week with the aid of the Street Crime Unit’s K9:

“A traffic stop earlier this week by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Street Crime Unit resulted in a large Methamphetamine seizure.

The vehicle had just arrived in Madison County from Birmingham, AL. The Street Crime Unit’s K9 ‘Maverick’ was deployed and he alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics.

Deputies then searched the vehicle and located more than a pound of methamphetamine “ice”, 3 pistols, and 1 shotgun. The driver, Brian Lee Curtis of Birmingham, was arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking.

Maverick is definitely one happy camper!”
